I made some last-minute major changes to this essay. In fact, it was originally a completely different belief. In the beginning of the process, I decided on a belief that was about how one should be independent when they cannot find help. For almost the entire process, I worked on that essay and planned out the entire format of the essay. However, two days before the due date, I suddenly received new inspiration for a belief after remembering some past memories. What's worse, I really liked the idea, so I was torn between abandoning the current belief and forgetting the new one. In the end, I decided to leave the current essay to the side temporarily and write another one for the new belief, which was that it's alright to ask for help. Surprisingly, it was stressful and enjoyable because I only had little time to finish it, but I felt more comfortable writing it because I was able to talk about my experiences in a more lucid way, and I felt more strongly about it than the other belief.
Once I finished the new essay, I asked for feedback on both essays from a few people. All of them chose the new one to be the better essay because through the wording, they felt that I was more passionate with it than with the other one because of its clarity. Additionally, I received more comments for that one. The next day, I got feedback from my fellow classmates, made those edits, and asked for feedback once more. I always ask for feedback after making changes to any of my work because I want my work to be enjoyable to as many people as possible, and some don't say everything they want to say, so I have to keep asking them, "Is there anything else you think I should change?" |
