I've actually never heard of Macbeth until the Shakespeare until started. The only Macbeth I've heard of was the fashion brand Macbeth, and the only work I've heard of from Shakespeare were a few of his famous plays, such as the renowned Romeo & Juliet and Hamlet, and a couple of his poems. In fact, I never really liked Shakespeare because I could only barely understand his written language and his Romeo and Juliet play was overrated in my opinion. Reading Macbeth has helped me better understand Shakespeare's writing, though, and also made me come to like Shakespeare. I learned that Shakespeare uses a lot of creative insults and sarcasm, and noticing those moments in his plays has made his work more enjoyable to me. I'm still having a tiny bit of trouble with figuring out the subtext, but I think I've gotten a better understanding of it after closely analyzing Macbeth entirely. Overall though, Macbeth is a wonderful play, and I'm now interested in reading more of Shakespeare's work, especially Hamlet and Othello.
