The English regents was a bit easier than I thought it would be. Well, easier to complete at least. As for getting a passing score, I'm glad I met my minimum goal, which was an 85. I don't like the way the points are converted, though. Losing even just one point can decrease your score dramatically. It puts a lot of pressure on the students, probably a bit too much pressure. I'm also kind of glad that I've improved on reading comprehension. The in-class preparation has helped me with the critical lens essay in terms of planning. During the exam, I immediately had an idea of what to write about and how to organize my paragraphs. I wish I had more time working on analysis, though. Analysis has always been one of my weakest points in essays, and I feel like I could've done better on it during the exam.
For the rest of the year, I plan on finding more time to read independently. I honestly haven't read many books lately due to my busy schedule and commuting issues. When I finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (which gave me a lot of frustration), I felt like reading more books. I didn't know I missed indulging myself in long hours of reading and feeling bursts of anger or excitement until I finished that book. Therefore, I plan on reading at least 30 minutes a day. Plus, I have loads of books in my room that I haven't even read yet. I'll probably start with either Paris by Edward Rutherford or Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen tomorrow.
